Moxtra for the creative mind: Through the eyes of a Furniture Artist

Amanda Blackburn owns Weathered Willow, a rustic furniture and home décor virtual shop, located in Indianapolis, IN. A business that started simply by attending garage and estate sales soon turned into a profitable means of selling tried and true treasures.

image[1]

Amanda uses Moxtra as a tool to organize her merchandise and share it with potential customers. “As a small start-up business I need all the help I can get when it comes to organization and to-do lists. My creative mind doesn’t think like that on it’s own! Moxtra has been able to help me share, maintain and keep up-to-date on all of my existing products and new inventory,” said Amanda.

Amanda uploads all of her inventory easily into Moxtra binders and adds description and pricing information using the Moxtra Note capability.  Moxtra Notes allow her to add voice and visual annotations. She then shares the Moxtra binder, with a simple push of a button for a quick and easy way to showcase her available products for sale, along with their corresponding prices and designer notes.

When an item has sold, she easily moves that item into separate binder marked “Sold” and inserts the buyer’s information. “There is no need for paper and pen, which I admittedly have lost in the past. I have digitized everything so I can simply look back in my Moxtra binder to see which items sold and for how much, along with when the buyer will be coming to pick up their items or if they need shipping,” she said.

5 Reasons Why Online Classes Should Embrace Moxtra

Online classes are becoming quite the staple in the educational arena. Given that, high school and even grade school students have to collaborate more with their professors and teachers on-the-go. Moxtra offers students and teachers the unique capability to have hands-on learning experiences outside of  the traditional face-to-face interactions.

How can students and teachers alike become more creative in the classroom, while not being physically present? We explore the options:

  • Instructors can post articles, assignments and additional learning materials in binders for students to view. Moxtra’s Private Group Share option allows the classroom facilitator to share a binder with an entire class , specific group of students or just one student.
  • Students can turn in a homework assignment remotely, without being present in the classroom, using a Moxtra Binder. The instructor can then provide immediate feedback with the comments section of the binder or give voice feedback with a Moxtra Note.  All updates made whether it be a comment or Moxtra Note will appear in the updates tab of the binder.

  • Students can record presentations with a Moxtra Note,  that can be made directly in the binder. This allows students to produce a more attractive and personalized presentation, much more than just a powerpoint or word document, because all voice and written annotations are recorded within the Moxtra Note, too! The Moxtra Note aspect opens up a window for easy and quick collaboration between instructors and students.
  • Need to access an assignment on your home computer? No problem! Moxtra offers remote accessibility to your desktop. All you have to do is install Moxtra on your iPhone/iPad and Moxtra Desktop on your home computer and now you can access those papers you have been working all night on.
  • Have a group project? Use Moxtra Binders to keep everyone on the same page and use Moxtra Meet, online meetings, if you need to meet on the go!

This easy-to-use functionality now allows Amanda to see clients’ wardrobe suggestions, prop specifications and preferred color schemes prior to ever seeing them in person.
